Monique gave me a call one day and asked me if we could design a 'snow scene set' to create a 'Snow Babies' photograph of her two grandchildren. What FUN we had! Love it when a client has an idea in mind for a shoot!

The final portrait is my Christmas window and is it getting alot of attention! There have been a few 'fender-bender' close calls out front...only kidding.

It is true that the proud Mimi & a group of friends have been spied standing in front of the window display oohing & aahing and pointing & smiling...

Love it when that happens!!

Though I am a 'cat woman'...who could ever resist these 'precious girls'! Their mommy

had to have a portrait created for herself & I had the pleasure of playing with & photographing these babies.

Well behaved and obedient...maybe my bengal kitty wouldn't mind having a sissy from 'anotha motha', as my son in law would say. I'll have to think about that!

girl. It's just so amazing how fast time slips right on by. I know that for Tori's mom

she has lots of moments captured of her family she'll always be able to enjoy in her home.

Happy Birthday Stacey!

October 11th is Stacey's birthday and this year in her card I put a portrait hanger as a hint to what her gift would be. Do you think she guessed?

The Beltramis in Boston did not have a family portrait with 2 1/2 year old Adam in it. Soooooo it was about time we got one up on the wall.

Stacey, figure out where your 30"x30" portrait will be hanging....we'll plan on an update when Ava decides to grace us with her presence...NO PRESSURE!

A beautiful wedding on Saturday and a new baby shoot on Sunday!

Maine Family Vacation

The Lutarewych Family

Chris & I had the pleasure of returning to Ogunquit, Maine

(our favorite place in the world) to photograph the Lutarewych family. The family, now scattered throughout the U.S., rendezvoused in Ogunquit for some well deserved R&R. They know the area well because their dad used to rent a home for the summer family vacations.

This was a very special trip because it included dad in spirit.

The Portraits we created will now become a family treasure that

will keep the memories of that

vey special time together!

One of my fav's of the season is the high-heal shot on the wall!

We have been photographing Tierney since she was a baby, so to see her all grown up

as beautiful young woman is a reminder of how time continues to fly by!

National Awards 2010!

Chris (& myself) have received the results from the 2010 International Professional Photographers of America's Convention. We both were awarded 4 blue ribbons and both earned 1 Loan Collection (judged as the top 5% BEST in the world!!!)

Our Loan Collection Images will be published in the 2010 Loan Collection Book

which will be for sale in a couple months.

of Kelsey LaPerle's son Max & a bunch of puppies from grammy Bailey!

We love competition in photography.

Mother & Child!

I have known the Zider sisters from the day they were born.

Both have married and are having children of their own.

Betsy & Jenny have 2 boys each and I have been fortunate to photograph them with each child. This is a great example of how time marches on!

New generations spring up and the life cycle continues.

One day each child will carry a portrait of them with their mom

to their own home ... as an heirloom of time past!

Miss Vermont Teen USA 2010!

We can't wait for the Miss Teen USA pageant this summer! All of our hope is on the shoulders of Shelby, our beautiful Vermont (born in the brier patch) representative! Shelby is graduating from SHS in June and before she attends UVM she will be competing in the National pageant.

Determined, beautiful & smart...we will be praying, hoping & watching (albeit on Webcast live on MissTeenUSA.com , July 24th) our Fabulous Shelby!

Kenzie!

Kenzie is a DYN-A-MO of a little girl! All the little girls want the "Kenzie" haircut when they go to the hairdressers...each time a mom discribes how they want their little girls haircut to look like, the stylist all say "oh yeah the Kenzie Cut!"

We create a one of a kind piece for each client we photograph and this was Kenzie's, which now hangs proudly in her room.

2010 New England Awards!

Chris Beltrami is New England Photographer of the Year 2010!

On Monday Chris received the Cannon Award for Photographer of the Year 2010 by the New England Professional Photographers Association at their yearly convention held at the Hallmark Institute of Photography in Turners Falls, Massachusetts.
For the past 20 years Beltrami Studios have been celebrating photographic excellence in being the Most Award Winning Studio in New England, a blessing from the Lord!


This has been a very busy Spring! Being Speakers & International Judges, we have traveled to Ohio, R.I., Pennsylvania, Nashville, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. We love what we do but I'll have to say it's going to be good to be around home now until July when we will be traveling to Maine (my fav place) to vacation & photograph a few clients who love the beach & need beach portraits for their homes.



I'm such a huge fan of Chris' work, I call him an artist all the time! He has an eye for light that I only dream one day I'll be able to attain, if only a fraction.
He puts out a monthly newsletter blog called Chris Beltrami think about it! Sooooo inspirational, I encourage everyone to take a visit and just 'think about it'......

2010 Vermont Professional Photographers Awards!

Taken in Spain during an XXV trip...Each person seems to be in their own little world.


When Greg came into the studio for his family portrait Chris took this shot for competition.

At a wedding we photographed a few years ago, Chris took this shot of the Grandfather of the groom. This image won numerous awards. One judge commented that he's never seen an older gentleman photographed as comfortably as this one was.

2010 Vermont Professional Photographers Convention was held this last weekend at the Equinox in Manchester, Vt. Chris received 8 awards for his images, including a Kodak Award for Best Illustrative, along with Photographer of the Year 2010 for the highest scoring print case!

April Special

2010 Family of a Graduate Special!

We have photographed Tori over the years,( she's the one on the right), and this summer we'll be doing her Senior Portraits! Time flies by soooo quickly! So in celebration on slowing time down a little bit, we are offering Free family sessions for any families with a 2010 graduate who is getting ready to sprout wings and fly away...

I was always good at roots while we were raising the children...Chris was always great about giving them wings! But some of our most cherished posessions are the portraits we have on the walls of our home where time stands still and we are easily transported back with a smile or tear on our face.

One of my clients told me she often catches her husband looking at the portrait we photographed for them of their children and she enjoys that little smile that comes to his face as he remembers...

So if you know anyone with a graduate in the family, spread the word and have them call our studio so that we can help them 'make time stand still' for them too.

Pretty Ballerina

We have been having so much fun photographing children for the Modeling Contest we run at this time of year...just 3 more weeks and the judging begins! Someone will win $1000 & a 1 year modeling contract with Kids Fusion in Burlington!

I was told this little girl had 'gorgeous eyes', and boy they were right!

When she came into the studio, I selected one of our tutus that brought the color of them out and "pretty ballerina"!

My Three Sons!

Now here are some handsome boys! Dad is in Afganistan and we want post these images of his sons so that he can enjoy them. We have a surprise on the way dad! And thank you so much for all you and your family are doing for us and our country! We pray God's protection and swift return!

favorite time of year...

This time of year is my favorite...things slow down a little bit and we get to photograph children. From babies, for the modeling contest, to 17 years old, to get ready for the upcoming Senior season. We paint back rounds...collect pieces to add to our props, like tutus & flowers for the children's hair...talk with Seniors about ideas for Summer Shoots...being International Jurors, we get invited to travel around the country and judge State Convention's photography & catch up with our friends...and next month we compete with our photography on the State level. We feel blessed in what we do! I think of it as a calling in sorts. We have always made memories with our family and we so enjoy making memories for others of their family or children to enjoy over the years, which fly by so quickly...
People come and people go in our lives but family is always there to rely on no matter what!
To my family...I love you!

A Girl & her puppy!

We had so much fun in the studio today shooting 'Puppy Love' with one of our Class of 2011 Ambassadors!

I must admit I was a little inspired by Glamour Magazine and Mrs. Beckham! Still I think this came out just as nice (if not a little tiny bit better)! Can I say that? Oops just did! Gotta go home now... :)

Hung-up!

This session was all about FUN! Something that we seem to experience most days around here! Just doing what we LOVE! Do you ever want to scream because you're so happy? We get that urge often, especially when we've come out of the studio knowing that we hit a grand slam. What we create are memories that go on and on and on...well you get the idea! Watch for this precious baby's wall collection in our window downtown!

Adam is the baby of the Beltrami Family. He is such a snuggle-bug, always ready to give and receive some lovin'. Whenever you ask him a question, his usual answer is yeah! Mom and dad should enjoy that as long as they can although I only foresee lots of love from this boy!
Adam watches his big brother very carefully and you can't help but notice we have an up and coming young Star Wars Jedi-knight materializing before our eyes. For Micah, his influence in his brother's life, has rewarded him with a willing dueling partner to refine their light saber wielding moves together! It's a wonder to behold! nana

Micah

Micah is a very energetic,smart,athletic & sensitive boy. Inside he has the will and determination of a tiger. No one can get anything by his watchful eye and his judgement is usually right on. A connoisseur of anything Star Wars, he is ready ,at a moments notice, to engage his light saber and go into action to defeat the foe...

Although mom forgot the holster and gun for this shoot, Micah acted out the quick draw he practiced at the session....and it was fast! We settled in on this pose to show the more sensitive side! Love you Micah man! nana (my fav name)

Jummy from Nigeria

Jummy ,from Nigeria, requested I put her princess daughter, Sandra, on my blog so that everyone at home will be able to see her portraits...what a beauty!

I found out that Sandra watches The Tyra Banks Show all the time and would LOVE to be a model someday.... a straight 'A' student with lots of confidence may be just the combo needed to catch her star!

My dad is a Marine!

We have been having soooo much fun with our Military Family special....We absolutely appreciate the sacrifice the entire family makes for our country and we don't want that to go unnoticed.... My Dad is a Marine was created this past week for a brave young man who has already had 3 tours of duty taking him out of his country for months on end! He looks so young to have done all that he has for us...stay safe and our prayers go with you!

Miss Robbins & her Tutu!

Our Children's Modeling Contest, with a $1000 prize & 1 Year Modeling contract with Fusion, has been extended through March because of all the wonderful interest in the special! It's always the most popular one we run during the year.

This baby arrived for a family portrait session with mom and dad, but, one look at our rack of tutus, and mom had her little one in layers of pink tulle! And Voila'!

Mom's little man...

After a long day at daycare, without a nap, Eli graciously allowed us to use him for our model to show off some of the guy stuff we have at the studio....totally inspired by Christy!

1st outfit was the cowboy dude...Eli had to warm up for the others...but he did

(as you can see)!

Next was the J.T. Look, as we like to call it....and last was the City Kid in dad's chair...

Lots of fun & giggles were had by all...mostly by Julie and I...

Last year a boy won the contest...what will happen this year? hmmmmm...

Time will tell....remember, we're having judging by YOU for the top 10 runners-up!

Children's Modeling Contest!

...can you tell we're having alot of fun! We had 3 more calls today from moms who are more excited the tutus have arrived than maybe their little girls might be ( i said maybe)!

Tonight we are photographing our 1st little boy, not in a tutu, but in some of our new hats & ties for the little men out there. Sooooo keep looking for some great shots and ideas for your miniature man!

And we are putting them to GOOD use! We are having all of our little girls who are coming in for the Children's Modeling Contest change into the tutu of their choice for a series of shots...and what the tag on the tutu said was true...caution, putting tutus on little girls may result in spinning and flitting around!

ps...for little boys we have some new little hats and ties for the GQ-look!

$1000 Grand Prize! Children Modeling Call!

Wow! We have been booking into February for the Modeling Contest and, because of all the excitement, we have already started photographing appointments in January. This is the most popular special we run every year and soon you'll be seeing gorgeous portraits in our window.

This little guy's dad will be home soon. He's in the military, and I'm sure he'll be delighted with the portrait of his beautiful son ... a copy will be in his future travels, I'm sure.

NEW PRODUCTS!

We just returned from the Professional Photographers of America's National Convention....and it is always 'a shot to the arm' of a whole bunch of creativity serum!
The studio will be offering Memory Boxes, which I can't wait to get a sample of, and these wrapped canvas to decorate baby's room with names colorfully printed on the canvases...what fun!

I have ordered some tutus for little baby girls and am sooo excited to do some fresh new creative imagery!

Shannon's Christmas Present

Over the past few Christmas', Mom made her gift request very simple - a portrait of her children. So, with her children, we created a card for her to open on Christmas morning from the photo shoot. When she opened up the card, with all the images to choose from to decorate her home, she cried! ... just the reaction the kids were hoping for!

Shannon and I got together yesterday to decide on what wall to decorate with her treasured images and she told me how surprised she was to finally get her 'heart's desire'.

Good job gang! It might be hard to top that gift, but you'll always have the memory of mom's happy cry on Christmas 2009!
